What is a Stack Day (a/k/a Focused Visitor Day)? A Stack Day (also known as a Focused Visitor Day) is a regular meeting where each chapter member invites someone from the same profession. More members to give referrals to means more members giving them to you! As time goes on, some members of your chapter will leave... job transition, retirement; there are many reasons why members don't always stay forever. Building your group now, allows for breathing room during the natural cycles of chapter growth.
Larger chapters are not only more profitable, they can be more fun. Why should you have a Stack Day? For the same reason as you would interview more than one candidate for a job. It creates interest in the opportunity and provides choices to select the right referral partner for your chapter. A properly run Stack Day can add one new member per week to your chapter until your chapter reaches its optimal size for generating referrals given and received, (which for many chapters is 40-50 members). All you need to do is stay focused on the goal and work towards it. Make sure all of your members know the goal and affirm it at every meeting -- and make sure your visitors know as well as it shows that BNI is not a social club. BNI is your business and can be the main and best source of referrals for your members! |
